The Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) was established in 2021 by the Dublin City Council and implemented by Dublin Police Services in 2022. BHU is a support unit located in the Dublin Police Services station and its services are prioritized for City of Dublin residents referred by Dublin Police Services.

BHU works closely with the Dublin Police Services School Resource Officer unit, Crime Prevention unit, Investigation unit and Patrol in providing culturally competent, trauma informed behavioral health services for adults, children, couples and families who have had contact with Dublin Police Services. BHU also assists with Dublin Police Services behavioral health related details where law enforcement action may not be appropriate or sufficient.

The BHU staff consists of a Licensed Clinical Supervisor, a Licensed Therapist and a Registered Associate Therapist. The service modalities include crisis intervention, individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, consultation and case management, and resource referral and linkage, in English and Spanish.

Services are offered in English and Spanish.  To access services please call (925) 556-4585 or email DPS-BHU@acgov.org.
